Chicago attorney Maria Toliopoulos of RPAI, Inc. has been named among the most influential women in real estate.
A Woman of Influence
At Real Estate Properties of America, Inc. (RPAI), Maria Pope Toliopoulos serves as Senior Vice President and the Director of Leasing. In this position, she oversees the regional leasing directors and managers in the leasing of the Company’s portfolio. She is responsible for the oversight and retail leasing efforts of the company’s entire portfolio, consisting of 212 properties totaling approximately 31.3 million square feet. She has been integral to PAI’s increase in occupancy gains and positive re-leasing spreads, with the most successful 12-month of activity coming in 2013 with over five million square feet in new and renewal activity.
Prior to her tenure at RPAI, she was an attorney at Holland & Knight and Daspin & Aument, representing national and regional developers in the acquisition, entitlement, financing, leasing, management and disposition of retail, office, industrial and condominium projects.
Not Just a Leader at Work
Maria is a member of several trade organizations, including the Hellenic Bar Association, where she served on the Board of Directors and currently serves on the advisory committee. She has also presented and been published on various topics from technology and privacy to commercial leasing.
Definitely a person of distinction in her field, Maria was listed in Chain Store Age’s 10 under 40 2014. A wife and mother of three, Maria Toliopoulos is someone to watch. More exciting things are sure to come.
