MWRD President Mariyana Spyropoulos has been inducted into John Marshall Law School Hall of Fame.
President of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago Mariyana Spyropoulos was recently inducted into the John Marshall Law School Hall of Fame. The alumna completed her law degree from the school in 1996.
She was elected to the MWRD in 2010, and has served as Chairman of the Finance Committee. She was elected president in January 2015. In addition to her duties at the MWRD, she is an attorney at the Law Offices of Mariyana Spyropoulos & Associates in Chicago. Her practice areas are real estate, criminal and general business practice. She also holds an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago. She previously served as Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney and then as a Hearing Officer for the State of Illinois.
Of her induction, Mariyana was quoted:
“I would just say that I am humbled a thankful for the honor of being included on the hall of fame with so many judges and other elected officials who have served with distinction. John Marshall Law School has provided me and so many with the opportunity to become an attorney. The skills I learned at the school have served me well in many areas of my life. It’s an honor to be recognized in this way.”
The accomplished attorney and public official is the daughter of late philanthropist and businessman Ted G. Spyropoulos and philanthropist and renowned artist Erika Spyropoulos.
