Meet Chef Diane Kochilas
Chef and Cookbook Author Diane Kochilas has led the charge to introduce the bounty of Greek cuisine to the international scene. Every summer, she runs the Glorious Greek Cooking School in Ikaria, a Blue Zone, renowned for the longevity of its inhabitants. One of the world’s foremost authorities on Greek cuisine, Diane has written 18 award-winning cookbooks on Greek and Mediterranean Cuisine. She’s also worked with many restaurants in the U.S., as a consulting chef or on menu development.
The chef has appeared on many American television shows talking about Greece and her cuisine. Previously, Diane was the host of Greece’s most popular cooking show, “What Are We Going to Eat Today, Mom” (in Greek). For 20 years, she was a columnist and restaurant critic at the Greek newspaper, Ta Nea.
Diane is a native New Yorker, and splits her time between the U.S., Athens, and her ancestral home of Ikaria.
‘My Greek Table’
One of Diane’s most exciting projects to date is the development of her newest cooking show, called ‘My Greek Table”, which debuts on U.S. public television on October 6, 2017. The nationally televised series features Greek food, wine, culture, and travel.
In 13 episodes, this one-of-a-kind show will showcase the best of Greece. Viewers will be treated to road trips that bring Greek cuisine to the masses, and makes it accessible to the world. And what better guide on your road trips than one of the most respected and knowledgeable Greek chefs? Diane described the show.
“One country above all others is blessed with a time-tested, common-sense culinary and agricultural wisdom that embraces every aspect of environmental, physical, and emotional well-being. It’s also the birthplace of the Mediterranean diet. That’s Greece. Each episode will is an exciting tapestry of culture, characters, antiquities, beautiful vistas, and remarkable food and wine.”
Shot on location in Greece (Crete, the Peloponnese, Athens, Santorini, and more) ‘My Greek Table’ follows her as she goes in search of unique but accessible Greek ingredients. She’ll showcase healthy, delicious, and easy-to-make recipes, as she explores Greek cuisine through the ages. The show will also share the beauty of Greece — from the “deepest blue sea on earth” to the incredible archaeological sites.
“‘My Greek Table’ will give you a taste of Greece that will make you want to pick up the phone to your travel agent and hop on the next flight over!”
Diane Kochilas’ love song to Greece

“Greek cuisine is healthy, delicious, and extremely varied. It goes way beyond baklava and gyros. With ‘My Greek Table’, I want to reveal a country and a culinary point of view that feeds my soul and has shaped me into the person and chef that I am today.”
