Greek Wines Delivered: Club Brings Greek Wine to Your Doorstep

Trouble finding Greek wine in the U.S.? Greek Wines Delivered, a Boston-based wine club and virtual wine shop, brings the world of Greek wine to you.

Greek Wines Delivered is born

Fotios Stamos knows Greek wine. In various capacities, for two decades, he’s promoted and educated people about Greek wine. Recently, changes in Massachusetts liquor laws created an opportunity. He explained.

“With proper permitting, retailers can now ship wine to 46 states and Canada. This changes the landscape of how to sell and buy wine.”

From experience, he knows how difficult it is to find Greek wine in the U.S.

“People go to Greece and have a great experience at a winery. When they return to the States, oftentimes they can’t get the wine in their area. It’s frustrating. We’re about to change that.”

Over the years, Foti has introduced thousands of people to Greek wine. Why not transfer that knowledge and experience to the internet, and bring the world of Greek wine to the masses? Foti teamed up with partner Ari Kalos to create Greek Wines Delivered, the first and only wine club devoted exclusively to high quality Greek wines.

“It’s true. There isn’t one wine club devoted to Greek wines, so we jumped at the opportunity.”

About the partners

In the late 1990s, Foti sold wine for an import company in MA. He marketed Greek wines and cultivated relationships with up-and-coming wineries in Greece. Then he became the beverage manager for Legal Sea Foods, the nation’s largest privately owned restaurant group. Later he served as a brand representative for Stellar Imports, an importer of fine Greek wines.

Foti became general manager and beverage director for Meze Estiatorio, Boston’s premier Greek restaurant. He developed the country’s first only all-Greek wine list, and received national acclaim for this effort, in Wine Spectator, Ritz-Carlton magazine, and many Boston-based magazines.

He opened his first first wine shop in North Andover, MA in 2013. At The Cork Stop, Foti offers a curated collection of wines. He’s presented wine tastings at private homes featuring wine makers from Greece, and presents Greek wine seminars.

He’s also is a partner of At the Greek Table, a joint venture with culinary expert and Chef Paul Delios, devoted to preserving and promoting Greece’s food and wine culture while introducing food enthusiasts to contemporary Greek recipes. Foti’s wine pairings have been published in the At The Greek Table cookbook.

Ari has worked with web-based businesses over the last 20 years, and brings a wealth of online business experience.

He’s worked with a wide array of online businesses, from banks, to entertainment start-up iCast.com. Ari served as producer for the music channel and developed services for artists and their record labels.

Ari developed educational travel websites for EF Education, the largest educational travel company in the world. Later he became interactive project manager for RDVO, Inc., a multi award-winning interactive agency that includes many Fortune 500 companies. He then worked with Aquent, LLC as SEO and social media manager.

Their combined experience will definitely lead Greek Wines Delivered to success.
